MCCI remembers Gulshan attack victims

Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday arranged an event in memory of those who lost their lives on July 1 Gulshan cafe attack in the capital.
US ambassador Marcia Bernicat, European Union ambassador Pierre Mayaudon, British high commissioner Alison Blake and Indian high commissioner in Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla and presidents of different chambers of commerce and industries, including MCCI president Syed Nasim Manzur, were present at the programme.
Mentioning that Bangladesh has announced a policy of ‘zero tolerance’ towards terrorism, and adopted a comprehensive approach in fighting terrorism at all levels with the support of the people, the Indian high commissioner said his country condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
He said they looked forward to working with the Bangladesh government in its efforts to defeat the forces of extremism and the ideologies of fundamentalism.​
Shringla said the terrorist attack in Dhaka on July 1 left a deep and painful impact on many of them gathered at the event and for the families and friends of the victims of the attack, the loss has been irreparable.
