No national polls before 2019: Nasim

Coordinator of 14-party alliance and health minister Mohammed Nasim on Saturday said no national election will be held before 2019.

‘General elections would be held under prime minister Sheikh Hasina in line with the constitution...not under unconstitutional anyone,’ he told a public rally at Noujoan playground in Naogaon on 'militancy and terrorism' of the district unit of the alliance.

Nasim, also Awami League presidium member, called upon BNP to take preparation from now on if they want to participate in the next general polls.

The minister said the January 5, 2014 election was very much essential. ‘Had not it held, there would have no democracy,’ he added.

Workers Party general secretary Fazle Hossain Badshah, MP, Awami League central working committee member Khairuzzaman Litan, JSD standing committee member Anwar Hossain, Samyabadi Dal politburo member MA Goni, BSD convener Rezaur Rashid Khan, NAP general secretary Advocate Enamul Haque, among others, spoke.

Naogaon district 14-partry alliance coordinator Md Abdul Malek, MP, presided over it.
