7-day remand for three RAB men over N’ganj

A Narayanganj court on Tuesday granted seven-day remand for newly arrested three more personnel of Rapid Action Battalion- 11, in connection with murdering 7 people after abducting in Narayanganj. Senior judicial magistrate Monwara Begum passed the order while the investigation officer, Mamunur Rashid Mandal, also the officer-in-charge of Narayanganj Detective Branch of police, filed a petition for 10-day interrogation under police custody. Habildars Abul Kalam and Nasiruddin from Comilla locations on Monday night. A number of 27 people including 14 personnel of the battalion were arrested so far in connection with the gruesome murders. Seven people, including Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarker, were abducted, allegedly, by the battalion personnel from the Dhaka-Narayanganj link road on April 27. Their bodies were found floating in the River Sitalakhya after a couple of days.
