124-kilogram gold haul: 10 Biman staffs sued among 14

A total of 14 people including 10 employees of Biman Bangladesh Airlines were sued on Friday after the customs intelligence investigation found them responsible for smuggling of 124 kilograms of gold last year in a single haul.The case was filed on Friday with the Airport police station, a customs intelligence official said.

A six member probe committee was formed after the precious metal was recovered from inside a compartment of a cargo of an aircraft at the Airport on 24 July 2013.This was the biggest gold haul in the recent times.
