Four including JMB donor held in Ashulia

Rapid Action Battalion men in a drive arrested four extremists, including prime donor of outlawed Jama'atul-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh Abdur Rahman, from a five-storey building at Baipal of Ashulia in the outskirts of the capital on Saturday evening.

‘RAB members arrested the main JMB donor Abdur Rahman and three extremists after raiding a five-storey Mridha Vila building at Baipal of Ashulia this evening,’ commanding officer of RAB-1 lieutenant colonel Tuhin Mohammad Masud said.

‘Taka 30 lakh, one firearm, huge explosive substances, bullets, mobile phone jammer, books on extremism and sharp weapons were seized from them’, he added. 

The CO said being informed about the extremist hideout in the house, RAB cordoned off the house since 5:00pm and ended the operation at about 8:00pm.
