Two killed as bus plunges into Madaripur ditch

At least two people were killed after a bus slipped off a road and fell into a water body at Dashar in Madaripur early Saturday.

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The accident took place at Panthapara around 4:30am when the driver lost his control over the steering, said Md Emdadul Haq, officer-in-charge of Dashar police station.

Locals, police and fire service divers rescued over 20 passengers.

Police and divers were working to salvage the bus.
