7 suspected robbers lynched in Narsingdi

Villagers lynched seven suspected robbers while injured another one at Takshal in Sadar upazila of Narsingdi early Monday. The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately. The officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, Abul Kashem, said a gang of 23 to 24 bandits attacked a house of one Ali Akbar in Bhatpara area adjacent to Takshal at around 1:30am. Sensing their presence, the member of the house shouted for help. An announcement was also made from the local mosque, he said. As the Locals rushed, the robbers attempted to flee the scene when eight of them were caught, the OC said. Villagers beat them up mercilessly. Seven robbers died on the spot while another injured was handed over to police, Abul Kashem added. Police recovered the bodies and the injured was taken to Sadar hospital.
