Kader Siddique continues sit-in.

Krishok Sramik Janata League president Abdul Kader Siddique urged prime minister Sheikh Hasina to hold a dialogue to resolve the ongoing political crisis. He made the urge while addressing a press briefing on the 22nd day of his sit-in in front of the party’s central office at Motijheel on Wednesday. The valiant freedom fighter alleged that the country had been facing the ongoing political crisis, since the controversial general elections were held on January 5, 2014. ‘Most of the voters and political parties rejected the polls,’ he added. He asked the prime minister to step down from her office if she could not control the ongoing countrywide mayhem. Kader criticised the actions of law enforcers in the name of controlling the opposition parties. He also urged the government to stop repressions against the opposition parties.

He called on the Bangladesh Nationalist Party-chairperson Khaleda Zia to withdraw blockade programme. Kader also called on the Indian government to refrain from supporting the Awami League-led government. Kader announced that he would continue the sit-in programme until the authorities took steps to resolve the crisis. The party’s general secretary Habibur Rahman Talukder, joint general secretary Iqbal Siddiquee, central leader Nasrin Siddique, organising secretary Shafiqul Islam Delwar, and central leader Farid Ahmed, attended the press conference, among others
