Two city high rises catch fire

Two high-rise buildings–one at Gulshan-2 and another at New Eskaton Road–caught fire in the city on Sunday morning, reports United News of Bangladesh.Duty officer Enayet Hossain of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters said the fire erupted on the 7th floor of ‘IK Tower’ at Gulshan 2 circle area around 8:38am and spread soon.On information, five fire fighting units rushed in and doused the blaze after half an hour’s efforts.The origin of the blaze could not be immediately known.
In another incident, a multi-storey under-construction building on New Eskaton Road caught fire at about 8:55am.The fire broke out at a flat of holding number 122/23, on New Eskaton Road near Janakantha Bhaban.On information, three fire fighting units rushed to the spot and were working to bring the fire under control as of filing this report at 9:40am.
