Mushfiq hurt in training at the MCG

Former Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim was hurt in his right thumb while batting in the net during a training session at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Tuesday. ‘A delivery of pace bowler Taskin Ahmed hit him in the right thumb,’ manager Khaled Mahmud told New Age in Melbourne. ‘We are taking him to the hospital now. He is feeling some pain but we hope it will not turn serious.’ Mushfiq, also the wicketkeeper of the side, was the highest scorer for Bangladesh in the first match with 71 off 56 balls, which earned him the man of the match award. Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka in their third match of the World Cup at the MCG, the birthplace of Test and one-day international cricket, on Thursday.
