Bishwa Ijtema ends today with akheri munajat

The second phase of Bishwa Ijtema, one of major congregations of world Muslims, will end today with the offering of akheri munajat.
Maulana Sa’ad from Delhi, India is expected to administer the munajat after a special sermon, organisers said.
The munajat could be offered about 10:00am.
Thousands of devotees from different parts of the country continued thronging under a huge canopy on the Ijtema ground on the bank of River Turag on Saturday, ignoring biting cold.
The first phase of the Ijtema was held on January 13-15.
The organisers said one more devotee died on Saturday at the ijtema venue, raising the death toll to nine during this year’s ijtema.
The deceased was Zainal Abedin, 70, son of Sayed Ali Munshi of village Domarkanda Uttar Salua under Kuliachar Upazila in Kishoregonj.
Zainal was rushed to nearby Tongi Hospital as he was having breathing problem in the morning. The duty doctor declared him dead.
All entrances to the venue from Bhogra bypass in Dhaka-Mymensigh highway, Mirerbazar and Kamarpara point in Gazipur and Abdullahpur and Ashulia of Dhaka will remain closed for all types for vehicles from 12:00am on Sunday till the end of akheri munajat, said Harun-ur-Rashid, Gazipur superintendent of police.
He said that around 50 shuttle buses would ply between Bhogra to Station Road on Sunday to carry the devotees to the venue for taking part in the akheri munajat.
Harun-ur-Rashid also said that special security measures had been taken to ensure security of the devotees during the munajat. 
The deployment of forces will be doubled, he added.
During the ijtema, religious scholars from home and abroad delivered bayans explaining Islamic philosophy and different aspects of life and society in the light of the Quran and Hadiths. The sermons were simultaneously interpreted in Bangla, English, Hindi and Malayalam.
