Shamim demands punishment of Khaleda for using national flag.

Awami League lawmaker Shamim Osman on Wednesday demanded action against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia for using the national flag during her meeting with foreign diplomats at her office on Tuesday night. Shamim, elected from Narayanganj-4 constituency, taking took floor on point of order in parliament, said that Khaleda should be given exemplary punishment so that none could dare to dishonour the national flag. He said, ‘I was astonished to see that Khaleda, who is no longer a leader of opposition rather an activist of Jamaat, has been using national flag during the meeting with foreigners. Warrant of precedence does not allow her to use the national flag.’ There is a set of rules on the use of the national flag and Khaleda cannot use the flag, he said. The prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, was present in the parliament session.
