Govt to be held responsible for any unwarranted situation: BNP.

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Friday said that the government would be held responsible for any unwarranted developments in the country for its filure to resolve the ongoing political crisis. ‘We have welcomed every move from national and international community to find a solution to the crisis dialogues and talks…We hope good sense will prevail on the government before time runs out,’ said BNP joint secretary general Salah Uddin Ahmed in a statement. Alleging that the government has given the law enforcers licence to carry out mass killing, Salah Uddin claimed the ruling Awami League always destroyed democracy.

He said, ‘At present, it is in an effort to establish one-party rule in disguise of democracy. But the people of Bangladesh will not allow its dream coming true.’ Asking the Awami League as well as a certain quarter of the law enforcers to recall the fate of autocrats who carried out genocide and mass killings across the globe, he said that the people were ‘keeping records of the brutal activities of the law enforcers.’ The BNP leader strongly condemned and protested at the bomb attacks on the houses of party’s standing committee members Tariqul Islam and other local leaders in Jessore on Thursday night. He noted, ‘People’s just movement can never be thwarted by running steamroller on the opposition.’
