2 BCL activists killed in Hajee Danesh Univ clash

Two activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League were killed and 50 others injured in a factional clash at Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science & Technology University campus in Dinajpur at about 10pm on Thursday.BCL activists Mahmud Hasan (26) and Zakaria (25) was killed, Abul Hasnat, officer in charge (investigation) of Dinajpur Kotwali Police Station confirmed newsmen over telephone.They received bullet injuries and were admitted to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared them dead.The clash ensued over establishment of supremacy over the fresher’s reception programme held on campus.The clash started at 7:00 pm and a huge number of bombs exploded. Additional police was deployed on campus, he said.The reasons behind the clash could not be ascertained till the filing of this report Thursday night.
