Tremor jolts city, parts of Bangladesh

A moderate tremor jolted Dhaka and other parts of the country this afternoon. The nearly 30 seconds quake was felt by most of the people around 12:15pm. The magnitude of the earthquake could not be ascertained as of writing this report around 12:25pm. Our Panchagarh correspondent reported that people of Northern Bangladesh also experienced such quake simultaneously. Reuters alerted that an earthquake measuring 7.7 in the richter scale stroke 80 Km east of Pokhara in Nepal. The agency said some buildings in the capital Kathmandu have been collapsed. In North-East India a 7.7 magnitude quake has also been reported. There was no report of damages in Bangladesh, immediately.
