Judiciary freed of burden: AG

‘The judiciary is now free from a burden’, attorney general Mahbubey Alam said Sunday when reporters asked for his reaction about Chief Justice SK Sinha’s resignation from abroad.
‘If there is any allegation of involvement in corruption or moral turpitude against anyone in the judiciary, he should not stay there,’ said the attorney general.
The President alone knows what would be done, he said asked about the possibility of the Anti-Corruption Commission probing into the allegations against Justice Sinha as he is no more the Chief Justice.
He supported the law minister’s view that no vacuum occurred following the Chief Justice’s resignation as the next senior most judge had been Acting Chief Justice.
