Yaba factory busted in Ctg

The Detective Branch of Chittagong Metropolitan Police on Wednesday arrested four people along with 2,50,000 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets from a factory unearthed in Bapari Para area in Chittagong city. 
The arrested were identified as Shayamal Mojumder, 37, Abdullah Al Aman, 34, Md Mamun Hossen, 32, Ayesha Siddiqua, 27, residents of different areas of Chittagong. 
The factory was based in an apartment on the second floor of a five-storey building in Bapari Para under Doublemorring police station where an average of 3000 to 5000 pieces of Yaba tablets were produced daily, said police sources. 
Acting on a tip off, a DB police team busted the apartment and arrested the four with 2,50,000 pieces of Yaba tablets, said deputy commissioner (north) of DB of CMP Hasan Mohammad Showkat Ali. 
The police also recovered 100kg of raw materials, two machines and a range of other equipment used in the manufacture of Yaba tablets from the factory, the DC said, adding that Shayamal Mojumder was the kingpin of the gang. 
The arrested were produced before a Chittagong court by the police, 
seeking ten-day remand for each, said assistant commissioner (prosecution) of CMP Kazi Sahabuddin Ahmed.
Later, the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Md Shafi Ahmed placed the men on three-day remand each and Ayesha on a two-day remand in police custody.
