ROAD ACCIDENTS 7 killed in Feni, 4 in northern districts

At least 11 people were killed and 26 others injured in road accidents in Feni, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh and Rangpur on Saturday. 
New Age correspondent in Feni reported that at least seven people were killed and 25 other injured when a bus and an auto-rickshaw fell into a ditch by the Feni-Noakhali Highway at Amirao area at Daganbhuiyan at about 7:30pm. 
Daganbhuiyan police officer-in-charge Abul Kalam Azad said a Shahi Paribahn bus on Raipur (Lakshmipur)-Chittagong route fell into the ditch during giving side to a motorcycle and the auto leaving two people spot dead and others as critically injured. 
The bus and the auto were damaged heavily while vehicular movement on the road was suspended till writing this report at 9:15pm.
Police took them to Daganbhuiyan Upazila Health Complex and Feni District Sadar Hospital where four succumbed to their injuries, said on-duty doctors. 
Police and hospital sources said that deceased were identified as Chittagong tax official Mahbubur Rahman, Mohammad Yousuf of Char Fashion in Bhola, Abul Kalam of Bhola, auto-rickshaw driver Abu Hanif, Kamal Hossain of Noakahli’s Begumganj, Delwar Hosaain of Senbagh in Nokhali and Nazrul Islam. 
Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that four persons were killed in three separate road accidents amid foggy weather in three northern districts.
In Thakurgaon two auto-rickshaw passengers were died on the spot after being hit by a speedy truck on the Thakurgaon-Rangpur Highway at Sattyapeer Bridge point under Thakurgaon Sadar upazila at 2:45pm. 
Thakurgaon Sadar Thana officer-in-charge Abdul Latif said the deceased were identified as Shovan, 22, of village Nischintapur under Sadar upazila and Ruhul Amin, 35, of village Harita Sundarpur under Pirganj upazila of Thakurgaon. 
Motorcyclist Mahfuzur Rahman, 28, of Dhakkamara village was killed and his co-rider injured when a truck hit their motorcycle at Boda Bypass point on the Panchagarh-Boda highway under Boda upazila in Panchagarh at about 2:00pm. 
Boda Thana officer-in-charge AKM Nurul Islam said police rushed the injured person to Boda Upazila Health Complex from where he was shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. 
In Rangpur a truck helper was killed after the overloaded truck overturned and fell into a roadside ditch on Saturday morning 
at Tabil village under Ramnathpur union of Badarganj upazila. 
Badarganj police officer-in-charge Md Akhteruzzaman said the deceased person was identified as Mahbubur Rahman, 30, of village Kuthirpara under Harirampur union of the same upazila. 
Three separate cases were filed in these connections with the respective police stations, police said.
