Moyeen Khan among 10 injured in BCL attack

At least 10 Bangladesh Nationalist Party leaders and activists, including its standing committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan, were injured as Bangladesh Chhatra League activists allegedly attacked an ifter party at a village of Palash upazila on Friday. Abdul Moyeen Khan, a former minister and lawmaker of the area, was rushed to a private hospital in the capital while the rest of the injured were given treatment locally. The incident took place at the iftar party hosted by local Danga union council chairman Syed Mohammad Iqbal at Bhiranda Primary School ground at about 6:45pm. Witnesses said that about 50 activists of the ruling Awami League-backed BCL student organisation led by its Danga union unit president Delwar Hossain Delu and Palash upazila unit president Saber Hossain attacked the iftar party with local lethal weapons. During the attack, Moyeen Khan, among others, sustained injuries. Police reached after the attackers left the place. Saber Hossain, however, denied the allegation and claimed that the clash ensued from the BNP’s internal feud. News Courtesy: www.newagebd.net
