Two killed in blast at National Fan factory

At least two workers were killed and 15 others injured in a blast at the heat chamber of National Fan Factory at Tongi in Gazipur on Tuesday.

The identity of the deceased could not be identified immediately.

A fire broke out following the blast at the fan factory around 11:30am, leaving 17 workkers injured, said the duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence station in Tongi.

The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where the duty dotcor declared two of them dead.

On information, a team of Fire Service and Civil Defence of Tongi rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.  

A five-member probe committee led by additional deputy commissioner Moshiur Rahman has been formed to investigate the incident.
