Ministers dropped from Bangladesh cabinet

Most of senior leaders of the Awami League and its allies, who were in the outgoing cabinet, were dropped from the new cabinet scheduled for today to be sworn in.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday finalised her cabinet for the third consecutive term.
The ministers dropped from the cabinet are Abul Mal Abdul Muhith (finance), Amir Hossain Amu (industries), Tofail Ahmed (commerce), Matia Chowdhury (agriculture), Mohammad Nasim (heath and family welfare), Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain (local government), Mosharraf Hossain (housing and public works), Emaz Uddin Pamanik (textile and jute), Rashed Khan Menon (social welfare), Hasanul Haq Inu (information), Anisul Islam Mahmud (environment and forest), Anwar Hossain (water resources), Nurul Islam Nahid (education), Shajahan Khan (shipping), Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, (disaster management and relief), Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali (foreign affairs), Mohammad Mozibul Hoque (railway), Asaduzzaman Noor (cultural affairs), Shamsur Rahman Sharif (land), Mohammad Qamrul Islam (food), Narayan Chandra Chanda (fisheries and livestock) and AKM Shajahan Kamal (civil aviation and tourism).
Awami League general secretary on Friday said that the cabinet might come as a surprise.
State ministers Md Mujibul Haque, Mirza Azam, Biren Sikder, Ismat Ara Sadique, Meher Afroz, Tarana Halim, Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Md Mashiur Rahman Ranga, Nuruzzaman Ahmed, Kazi Keramat Ali and deputy ministers Abdullah Al Islam Jakob and Arif Khan Joy were also dropped, according to the new list announced by the Cabinet Division on Sunday.
