BNP secures Brahmanbaria 2
Bangladesh Nationalist Party bagged one more seat in the 11th Jatiya Sangsad as its candidate for Brahmanbaria 2 Ukil Abdul Sattar Bhuiyan defeated independent candidate Md Moyeen Uddin after re-election in three suspended centres on Wednesday.
Ukil Abdul Sattar bagged 83,997 votes while his nearest rival independent contender Md Moyeen Uddin Moyeen polled 75,419, said retuning office and Brahmanbaria deputy commissioner Hayat Ud-dola Khan Wednesday evening after re-voting in three centres, where voting was postponed on December 30 due to various irregularities.
Voting in the three centres — Jatrapur Govt Primary School, Bahadurpur Govt Primary School and Sohagpur Dakkhin Govt Primary School — was held from 8:00am to 4:0pm.
The BNP got five seats in the December 30 Bangladesh elections.
