Journalist Mahfuz Ullah on life support

Critically ill senior journalist Mahfuz Ullah has been on life support since Tuesday at Square Hospital in Dhaka. 
He was admitted to the hospital with multiple complications in heart, kidney and lung on Tuesday afternoon, his family members said.
Mahfuz’s brother Mahbub Ullah, a former professor of Dhaka University, told New Age that Mahfuz, 69, was now on life support and kept at intensive care unit of the hospital.
He was shifted to ICU from coronary care unit on Tuesday night.
‘His condition is now improving,’ said Mahbub Ullah at about 7:45pm on Wednesday.
Mafuz Ullah, also a writer and columnist, is vocal and well-known for his critical views in TV talk-shows.
He recently authored books on BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and its incumbent chairperson Khaleda Zia.
He is currently working on a book on the life of MAG Osmani, commander-in-chief of the Bangladesh Forces during the War of Independence.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir sought prayers from the nation at a meeting at National Press Club on Wednesday.
