Girls outshine boys in SSC, equivalent exams results
Girls are ahead of boys in the combined results of this year’s Secondary School Certificate and equivalent examinations published on Monday.
They also outshined in the results of eight general boards.
In madrassah and technical boards, female students are ahead of male students in pass rates while they are behind male students in achieving Grade Point Average five.
In combined results, the pass rate of girls is 83.28 per cent which is 2.15 per cent higher than the pass rate of boys which is 81.13 per cent. A total of 53,484 female students secured GPA 5 against 52,110 male students.
This year 21,27,815 students sat for the SSC and its equivalent examinations out of whom 10,68,527 were male and 10,59,288 were female students.
The results of eight general education boards show that the pass rate of girls is 83.54 per cent which is 1.53 per cent higher than the pass rate of boys — 82.01 per cent.
Among the total 94,556 GPA 5 achievers under eight boards, 48,591 are girls and 45,965 are boys.
Under eight boards this year 7,29,895 female students passed the examinations while the number of male students was 6,73,262.
Under madrassah board the pass rate of female students is 83.07 per cent while the pass rate of male students is 82.99 per cent.
Under this board among the total 6,287 GPA 5 achievers, 3,573 are boys and 2,714 are girls.
As for technical board, the pass rates of female students are 76.69 per cent in SSC vocational and 75.61 per cent in Dakhil vocational while the pass rates of male students are 70.95 per cent in SSC vocational and 68.79 per cent in Dakhil vocational respectively.
Under this board among the total 4,751 GPA 5 achievers, 2,572 are boys and 2,179 are girls.
