PLANE HIJACK ATTEMPT Motive not clear, Shimla not found

Chattogram Metropolitan Police counter-terrorism team could not establish a motive for the attempted hijack of a Biman Bangladesh Airlines plane at Shah Amanat International Airport in 
Chattogram on February 24 that left the lone suspect killed.
Three months after the incident, investigators said that they were still waiting to interrogate the lone suspect Md Polash Ahmed’s divorced wife actress Samsun Nahar Shimla to establish the motive of the attempted plane hijack. 
Polash was shot dead in a commando operation that foiled the reported hijack attempt.
‘We are still investigating,’ said investigation officer of the case Chattogram Metropolitan Police inspector Rajesh Barua.
He said, ‘We have been trying to communicate with Shimla for the three months since but she is out of reach. Her family gave us the number she was using in India. We need to interrogate her but we are yet to make it despite all attempts.’
Rajesh that they analysed detailed call records of Polash, Shimla and another one to get motive for the attempted plane hijack and found important information.
Following the incident, Shimla told media that she divorced Polash on November 6, 2018 as she found his mental illness. 
She also said that she was ready to assist the investigators anytime. 
The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh filed the case against Polash with Patenga police station under the Anti-Terrorism 
Act and the Civil Aviation Act. 
The complaint mentioned nothing about the ‘pistol’ the suspect reportedly carrying on the aircraft. The police later confirmed that it was a toy gun.
The Rapid Action Battalion claimed that Polash was a ‘habitual offender’ and travelling from Dhaka to Chattogram as a domestic passenger.
Following the incident, a team of counter terrorism and transnational crime unit of the police interrogated the parents, relatives and neighbours of Polash.
The investigators told New Age that Polash was frustrated as he lost over Tk 70 lakh after he had given to one of his closest people. 
His father Pear Jahan said Polash wedded Shimla in March 2018 and she visited their house in Narayanganj twice.
