ATTACK ON DUCSU VP Quota protesters issue 48-hour ultimatum

Platform of protesters for quota reform Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Adhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad on Monday issued a 48-hour ultimatum for trail of the people who attacked Dhaka University Central Student Union vice-president Nurul Haq Nur and other activists of the organisation on Sunday.
Platform convener Hasan Al Mamun issued the ultimatum at a human chain at the base of Aparajeyo Bangla at the Dhaka University threatening to go for tougher agitations.
He said that Nur and other activists came under attack in Bogura on Sunday as none had ever been brought to justice for previous attack on the protesters.
If the attackers are not identified and arrested in 48 hours, the protesters would go for tougher agitations, he warned.
The platform also published a list of the suspected attackers saying that they prepared the list examining video footages.
The list included Chhatra League’s Bogura Government Azizul Haque College unit general secretary Abdur Rauf, Bogura district unit president Naimur Razzak Titas, joint general secretary Taqir Islam Khan and publicity secretary Mukul Islam.
Earlier on Sunday, Bangladesh Chhatra League activists once again attacked Nur as he went to Bogura to attend an iftar party.
Witnesses said that Nur and his associates were thrashed by Chhatra League activists of Government Azizul Haque College unit soon after they reached in front of the public library auditorium in Bogura to attend the programme, leaving at least 15 injured.
Ruling Awami League-backed student body Bangladesh Chhatra league members carried out attacks on Nur on several occasions while he led the quota reform movement and after he was elected DUCSU vice-president.
