Allocation in agriculture declines
Allocation to the agriculture sector in the national budget proposals for the next fiscal declined in percentage of the total outlay compared to the budget for the outgoing fiscal.
Finance minister AHM Mustafa Kamal proposed allocation of 5.4 per cent of the total outlay for agriculture. In the outgoing fiscal, 5.7 per cent of the total budgetary outlay was allocated for the sector.
Mustafa Kamal presented the national budget seeking parliament’s approval.
Allocation to the agriculture sector in the national budget proposals for the next fiscal increased in money terms as for the coming fiscal, he proposed the allocation of Tk 28,355 crore increased from the outgoing budget allocation of Tk 26,259 crore.
He proposed Tk 14, 053 crore for the agriculture ministry, Tk 2,932 crore for the fisheries and livestock ministry, Tk 1,495 crore for the environment and forests ministry, Tk 1,943 crore for the land ministry and Tk 7,932 crore for the water resources ministry.
