Job seekers want age limit for govt jobs 35 years

Job seekers on Saturday demanded that the government should extend the age limit for government jobs from 30 years to 35 years.

They made the demand at a human chain held at the Raju Memorial Monument at Dhaka University.

Several hundred job seekers, who completed their graduation from different universities, held the demonstration under the banner of Bangladesh General Students’ Council to press home their demand.

Speakers at the human chain termed the 30-year age limit unfair and said that most students could not complete the graduation before the age of 28 years as because of session jam.

They also said that the age limit for public services should be increased as the government had already increased the retirement age for public servants from 57 years to 59 years.

The agitating students also threatened to go for a tougher movement if their demand was not met immediately.
