Only crimes that go viral are investigated: Rumeen

Bangladesh Nationalist Party lawmaker Rumeen Farhana on Sunday said in parliament that the police were investigating only the crimes that went viral as the prime minister ordered them to investigate those cases.

Satirising the police action in case of the murder Rifat Sharif murder case in Barguna, Rumeen said that perhaps he was lucky as the video of the murder went viral on the social media.

The police did not do their duty by arresting the killers of 21 others who were also chopped like Rifat in the past one month across the country, she said in her call attention notice.

She said that police these days took no action unless a crime incident went viral or the prime minister ordered the action.

After the murder scene became viral on the social networks, the prime minister orders arrest of the criminals, she said.

For ceasing the power the ruling party has grossly pollicised the police and it exercises its power only to suppress the opposition, the BNP lawmaker said.
