Enam Ahmed Chowdhury, who joined Awami League in December last parting his ways with BNP, has been made an advisory council member of the ruling party.
Prime minister and AL president Sheikh Hasina made the appointment exercising power bestowed upon her at the party’s last national council held on October 22-23, 2016, said a party press release on Sunday.
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s adviser and former chairman of the Privatization Commission Enam Ahmed Chowdhury joined Awami League on December 19 last meeting prime minister and AL president Sheikh Hasina at her official residence Ganabhaban.
He sought BNP’s nomination for contesting the December 30 general election from Sylhet-1 constituency.
However, the party had chosen BNP chief’s another adviser Khandaker Abdul Muktadir over him for the parliamentary seat.
