Indian foreign minister S Jaishankar reached Dhaka on Monday evening on a three-day official visit.

Foreign minister AK Abdul Momen received his Indian counterpart at 9:15pm at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The two foreign ministers are scheduled to hold bilateral talks at the State Guesthouse Jamuna on Tuesday morning.

‘It would mainly be a courtesy visit,’ Momen earlier told New Age, adding that both sides would discuss all aspects of bilateral issues during the visit.

They will hold a joint press briefing after the talks, according to Bangladesh foreign ministry and the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.

Momen will host a lunch in honour of Jaishankar.

Jaishankar will also call on prime minister Sheikh Hasina. He will visit Bangabandhu Museum to pay respect to Bangladesh’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

It will be Jaishankar’s first visit to Dhaka as foreign minister.

He is scheduled to leave Dhaka on Wednesday morning.
