Swechchhasebak League president Kawsar removed
Awami Swechchhasebak League president Molla Md Abu Kawsar was removed from his position on Wednesday.
Awami League general secretary and road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader made the discloser at a special extended meeting of Dhaka North City unit AL at a city convention centre.
He said that the prime minister and the party president Sheikh Hasina removed Molla Kawsar from his post.
Earlier on Sunday, Awami League’s youth front Juba League’s chairman Omar Faruk Chowdhury was removed from his position.
Both Omar Faruk and Molla Kawsar were facing inquiry of the Anti-Corruption Commission and National Board of Revenue has frozen their bank accounts along with their family members and business entities.
Molla Abu Kawser was also the president of Dhaka Wanderers Club, one of the clubs those were closed on charges of running illegal casinos.
Obaidul also said the Workers Party of Bangladesh president Rashed Khan Menon made a U-turn from his previous remarks and now it’s time to see the future of Menon in his party.
He said the Awami League already noticed the matter to the coordinator of 14-party alliance Mohammad Nasim as Workers Party was of the partners of the alliance.
Obaidul said Nasim informed them that they would take decision on it after necessary discussion with the rest partners of the alliance,
Rashed Khan Menon, on October 19 in Barishal, said people could not cast their votes in the national election on December 30, 2018 through which Awami League-led alliance came to power.
‘I was elected in the elections. I am testifying that the people could not cast their votes in the elections. They could not cast their votes in the elections of the Union Parishads and Upazila Parishads,’ said Menon.
