REMARKS ON PROTESTERS PM echoes Ayub, Yahya, Hitler, Mussolini: BNP
Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Friday alleged prime minister Sheikh Hasina echoed the voices of dictators like Ayub, Yahya, Hitler, and Mussolini by threatening protesters at public universities, who brought allegations of corruption against vice-chancellors, with legal actions.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said this at a press conference at the party’s central office at Naya Paltan in Dhaka after the prime minister on Thursday warned that the people, who were creating anarchy on university campuses bringing corruption allegations against vice-chancellors, would have to face legal action if they failed to prove those.
The prime minister’s remarks came when unrests were on over corruption allegations against the vice-chancellors of Jahangirnagar University and Pabna University of Science and Technology.
Rizvi said the prime minister clearly taken stance for corruption through her remarks to protect Jahangirnagar University vice-chancellor C Farzana Islam without taking any action against her.
‘Bangladesh Chhatra League activists themselves brought allegations of corruption against Farzana Islam. Expelled Chhatra League general secretary and activists also brought allegation of illegal money transaction against the vice-chancellor and her family. It has been published on media how the vice-chancellor distributed Tk 1.60 crore amongst them,’ Rizvi said.
