Selima among 14 BNP leaders face arrest

A Dhaka court on Tuesday issued warrants for the arrest of 14 Bangladesh Nationalist Party leaders, including its vice-chairman Selima Rahman, in an arson case filled with Khilgaon police station.
The case was filed for instigating arson attack on a bus of Truag Paribahan at Khilgaon Flyover on January 30 during a non-stop blockade staged by BNP-led alliance.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Emdadul Haque issued the arrest warrant this afternoon after accepting the charge-sheet.
Earlier on June 27, the investigation officer, Billal Hossain, also a sub-inspector of Khilgaon police station, submitted the charge-sheet to the court against 24 accused over the matter.
The accused include BNP chairperson’s adviser Mosaddek Ali Falu, BNP’s joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, Juba Dal president Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal and BNP leader Amanullah Aman.
