Muhammad Yunus granted bail in Labour Act violation case
A labour court in Dhaka on Sunday granted bail to Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus and three others in a case filed against them for violating 10 rules of the Labour Act.
Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments filed the criminal case against them for violating the Labour Act.
Mohibul Islam, chairman of the third labour court, granted the bail against a Tk 5,000 bail bond by Professor Muhammad Yunus.
Earlier on January 13, a labour court in Dhaka summoned Muhammad Yunus, also the Grameen Communications chairman, and three others to appear before the court in a case filed against them for violating 10 rules of the Labour Act.
Dhaka third labour court chairman Rahibul Islam passed the order asking them to appear before the court on February 6.
