Ekushey Book Fair 2020 Extensive research on War of Independence sought
Freedom fighters, noted writers, filmmakers and researchers have advised young writers to do extensive research on the War of Independence before publishing books on the subject.
Writer, essayist and Liberation War Museum trustee Mofidul Hoque told New Age on Monday that the subject of the war required extensive research as it was vast and related to other historical events.
The work requires diligence as it cannot be done in few days, he added.

‘Some are publishing books for flattering the ruling party leaders for personal gain. So be aware of misinformation and disinformation,’ he warned.
He advised young writers to take interviews of at least 50 freedom fighters before venturing on the subject.
‘The young writers must take signatures from the interviewees, so they cannot disclaim what they said,’ he added.
