Zubaida to coordinate Khaleda’s treatment
Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia’s eldest daughter-in-law Zubaida Rahman will coordinate the treatment of Khaleda, now in 14-day home quarantine for coronavirus situation.
BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan told reporters on Thursday that a medical team in the country which had been providing treatment to Khaleda would continue treatment at her Gulshan house and Zubaida, also a physician, would coordinate it for her early recovery.
He said that the family gave Zubaida the responsibility.
Zubaida now stays in London with her husband Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman of BNP, party leaders said.
Khaleda who had been in jail since February 8, 2018, the day she was jailed for five years by a Dhaka special court in a graft case, was released from the prison cell of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University on Wednesday.

Khaleda is in home quarantine for 14 days as per the suggestion of the medical board formed for her treatment as she returned home from BSMMU escorted by a huge number of people, BNP vice-chairman AZM Zahid Hossain, who accompanied the medical board on Tuesday, told New Age.
Zahid, also former Doctors’ Association of Bangladesh president, said that the medical board considered the present situation and decided in favour of home quarantine as Khaleda was 75 years old and was suffering from various diseases, including asthma.
