BNP demands release of accused in political cases
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Wednesday wrote to the home minister demanding release of all accused in political cases from jail at this coronavirus situation in the country.
The letter, signed by the party secretary general, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, was submitted to the home ministry at about 2:00pm, BNP chairperson’s media wing member Shayrul Kabir Khan told New Age.
BNP had been alleging that over 25 lakh BNP leaders and activists were accused in over one lakh vexatious and politically motivated cases against its leaders and activists and several thousand of them are now in jail.
