Bangladeshi MP sent in Kuwait jail for 21 days
The attorney general of Kuwait City on Wednesday decided to arrest Bangladeshi MP Mohammad Shahid Islam for 21 days in the central prison of the city.
Shahid was accused in cases of involvement in human trafficking, visa trading and money laundering, according to Arab Times.
At least nine people, including two in-charge of the public authority for manpower, one colonel in the ministry of interior, and a woman who owns a business company, had previously been brought under the allegation of being involved with Shahid.
Sources said that the public prosecutor decided imprisonment of the remaining accused and release of the owner of the company on bail of 2,000 dinars which is around Tk 5.5 lakh.
