Bangladeshi man shot dead by BSF in Sunamganj

A Bangladeshi man was shot dead by members of Indian Border Security Force along Badaghata border in Tahirpurof Sunamganj on Saturday.

The deceased was Jewel Mia, 29, son of Afaz Uddin of Badaghat union in the upazila.

Lieutenant ColonelMdMaksudulAlam, commander of Border Guard Bangladesh-28, said that Jewel was shot and wounded on Saturday afternoon when he entered 100-150 yards inside of India by a boat.

Jewel was taken to SylhetOsmani Medical College Hospital where he died at about 10:00pm, he said.

Lieutenant ColonelMaksudul said that Jewel was collecting floating wood from River Jadukatacoming from the Indian side with the upstream water.
