COVID death toll hits 3,513, infections 2.66 lakh in Bangladesh
Bangladesh announced 42 more deaths from COVID-19 and 2,995 new cases in the past 24 hours until 8:00 am on Wednesday.
A Directorate General of Health Services press release said that 20.30 per cent of 14,751 people were diagnosed with COVID-19 positive in the timeline.
With the latest figures, the death tally reached 3,513 while the number of infected people climbed to 2,66,498 since the emergence of COVID-19, the disease caused by novel coronavirus, in Bangladesh on March 8.
The press release said that 1,117 people also recovered during the same time with the total number of recovering reaching at 153,089.
Of the newly deceased, 33 were males and nine were females.
