RAB raids Sirajul Islam Hospital in Malibagh

A joint team of Rapid Action Battalion and health ministry is conducting a raid at Dr Sirajul Islam Medical College Hospital in capital's Malibagh area over the allegations of irregularities.

RAB executive magistrate Sarwoer Alam said that they got allegation about many irregularities at the hospital and started the drive on Tuesday afternoon.

Officials from the health ministry and directorate general of drug administration were also present during the raid.

RAB officials said that primarily they have found some irregularities in reagents and were looking for the hospital’s license documents.

The raid is expected to be continued for several hours.

On July 6, a RAB mobile court led by Sarwoer unearthed a huge scam of COVID-19 test report forgery at Regent Hospital’s Uttara branch and then sealed off both Uttara and Mirpur branch of the hospital as well as its headquarters.

Two weeks later, the RAB unearthed another unauthorised COVID-19 testing scam involving Shahabuddin Medical College Hospital in Gulshan and arrested three officials.
