5 killed, 2 injured in Tangail road accident
At least five people were killed and two others injured in a road accident at Garindha bypass on the Dhaka-Bangabandhu Setu Highway in Tangail Tuesday morning.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Inspector Kamal Hossein, officer-in-charge of Elenga highway outpost, said that due to heavy fog the accident took place when a goods laden Dhaka-bound truck leaving North Bengal collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction.
The accident left five people dead on the spot and two others critically injured.
The bodies were kept in Tangail 250-Bed General Hospital while the two injured were also admitted to the same hospital.
Deputy director of Tangail fire service Rezaul Karim said that, being informed, they reached the spot and rescued the bodies and two trucks from the spot.
