BCB sues three Indians for cricket gambling in Chattogram

The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Sunday filed a case against three Indian nationals under Digital Security Act for gambling during the Bangladesh-West Indies first Test in Chattogram. 

BCB security supervisor Arefin Hossain filed the case with Pahartoli police station in the afternoon.

Inspector Hasan Imam, officer-in-charge of Pahartoli police station, confirmed the matter.

‘The three were accused of gambling through digit means inside the stadium. We have shown them arrested now,’ said the OC. 

The three Indian nationals were detained by BCB and intelligence officials on Saturday during the fourth day’s play of Bangladesh-West Indies opening Test match.    

The three were primarily identified as Sunil Kumar, 35, Chaitanya Sharma, 33, and Sunny Sangu, 30.

No special gambling materials had been found in their possession. However, some related videos had been found on their mobile, the OC had told earlier.
