QUESTION LEAK IN MBBS INTAKE : 3 physicians, 4 teachers held

Rapid Action Battalion on Tuesday arrested seven people, including three physicians and teachers of two coaching centres, in from Rangpur city over question leak in the admission test for medical and dental colleges, while admission seekers continued protests for fresh admission tests for the fourth day on Tuesday.
Protesting admission seekers issued an ultimatum the authorities concerned to cancel the result of the test by September 26 or to face tougher protests.
The admission test for 2015-16 academic sessions was held at different centres across the country on Friday and the government published the results on Sunday amidst countrywide protests against alleged question leak.

Hospital physicians Shariful Hasan Antu, Mostafizur Rahman Pavel and Jillur Rahman Rony, A-1 Coaching Centre teachers Md Jamal Uddin, Md Atiqur Rahman Adil and Sajratul Yeamin Rana, and Primate Medical Coaching Centre director Md Monjur Rahman at places in the city.
RAB-13 company commander Major Ashraf Ali at a briefing said that a team of the battalion launched drives in different parts of the city and arrested the seven for the question leak.
The battalion earlier arrested an assistant director of University Grants Commission and two others at the commission office at Agargaon in the capital on Friday for the question leak.
Protesting admission seekers staged protests at places across the country including the capital, Chittagong and Bogra on Tuesday.
Some students of government medical colleges, who extended their support to the admission seekers in Dhaka, said the students who passed the ‘flawed’ admission test would be barred to enter the colleges for admission procedure, to begin after Eid-ul-Azha holiday.
In the morning, police did not allow the protesting admission seekers to hold demonstration at in front of the National Press Club. The protesters moved to Central Shaheed Minar and staged a sit-in there.
They brought out a procession that was stopped by police in Shahbagh intersection. Students blocked Shabagh-TSC road. A group of students submitted memorandum to the health minister.
The protesters alleged that the question papers were available on Facebook and elsewhere September 17, a day ahead of the test.
Mohaiminul Islam Neon, an organiser of the ‘Students Seeking Admission in Public Medical Colleges’ said that they would continue with the protests with an interval because of Eid-ul Azha.
‘We want cancelation of the medical admission test result by September 26 or we will take to the streets after September 27,’ he said.
The students of Dhaka Medical College, Salimullah Medical College and Mymensingh Medical College were also expressed solidarity with the admission seekers.
The students in Chittagong and Bogra also staged demonstration demanding cancelation of the results.
In Chittagong, the students agitated in front of the Press Club and at Gulzar intersection in Chawkbazaar, reported New Age correspondent in Chitagong.
New Age correspondent in Bogra reported that the students and guardians formed a human chain at the town’s Sat Matha in the morning.
