28 die in Covid units in Rajshshi, Khulna, Satkhira
A total of 28 patients died at Covid units of hospitals in Khulna, Rajshshi and Satkhira districts in 24 hours ending Tuesday morning.
Of them, 10 died in three hospitals in Khulna, 13 died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital and five died at Satkhira Medical College Hospital, officials said.
Of the 28 deceased, 15 were Covid positive patients and 13 died with symptoms of Covid infection.
New Age correspondent in Khulna, quoting officials, reported that five Covid positive patients died at the Covid Dedicated Hospital, four died in Gazi Medical College Hospital and one died at Khulna Sadar Hospital in the past 24 hours ending Tuesday 8:00am.
A total of five patients having symptoms of Covid infection died at Covid units of Satkhira Medical College Hospital during the time, New Age correspondent in Satkhira, quoting SMCH superintendent Kudrat-e-Khuda, reported.
New Age correspondent in Rajshshi reported that thirteen more patients died at the Covid units of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in 24 hours ending Tuesday morning.
Of the deceased, five were positive for Covid-19 while the rest died with symptoms of Covid infection, RMCH director Brigadier Shameem Yazdany told New Age.
He said that twelve of the dead were from Rajshahi district while the rest one was from Natore district.
According to the RMCH officials, a total of 229 patients died in the Covid units of the hospital in the ongoing month while 117 were Covid positive patients.
Brigadier Shameem Yazdany said that 56 new patients were admitted to the hospital’s Covid units in the past 24 hours while a total of 393 patients were taking treatment at the units, now having 309 beds.
He said that they had tested samples of 452 people in two PCR labs in the last 24 hours and confirmed 152 new cases of Covid-19.
