Bangladesh-origin candidate elected councilor in Finland
Bangladesh origin Finnish Shamsul Alam was re-elected as councilor in the municipality election in Kerava city of Finland.
He participated in the elections as a candidate of the ruling coalition.
He was elected as a Kerava councilor for the first time in 2017.
He migrated to Finland in 2010 and joined the Left Alliance Party. Six years later he got the ticket to run in the Kerava City Council elections and came out victorious.
His victory brought streams of joy and pride among the Bengali community in Finland.
Shamsul Alam, son of Mozahed Uddin Ahmed, hails from village Ibrahimpur of Nabinagar upazila under Brahmanbaria district.
