Two associates of Helen Jahangir arrested in Dhaka
Two associates of sacked Awami League leader Helena Jahangir were arrested from Gabtali area.
The arrested are Hajera Khatun and Sanaullah Nuri, said RAB assistant director Emran Khan.
Details would be informed in a press briefing later, said the RAB officer.
Helena Jahangir is now on a three-day police remand in a case under Digital Security Act after she was produced before a Dhaka court on Friday night after being arrested by the Rapid Action Battalion.
The elite force raided her Gulshan apartment of Thursday night and arrested her.
RAB later filed three cases under the DSA, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Act, and Special Power Act against Helena with Gulshan and Pallabi police stations.
She created controversy and came into discussions after she had announced a new platform named Bangladesh Awami Chakrijibi League to mobilise service holders under the platform.
RAB said Helena often blackmailed respected and notable people using the social media, besides carrying out smear campaigns against different state organisations.
