124 more die at Covid units in 13 Bangladesh dists in 24 hrs

At least 124 more patients died at the Covid units of hospitals in 13 districts in Bangladesh in 24 hours till Wednesday morning.

Of the deceased, 90 were Covid patients, 32 had symptoms and two others had post Covid complications, reports received from the districts said.

The districts are Mymensingh, Rajshshi, Khulna, Kushtia, Chuadanga, Meherpur, Barishal, Gazipur, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Brahamanbaria, Noakhali and Cumilla.

New Age correspondent in Mymensingh, quoting the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital’s Covid unit focal person Mahiuddin Khan Moon, reported that 22 patients — 10 Covid patients and 12 others having symptoms — died in the Covid units of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in 24 hours till Wednesday 8:00am.

A total of 14 patients – four Covid patients, eight having symptoms and two others having post Covid complications— died at the Covid unit of Rajshshi Medical College Hospital during the time, reported New Age Rajshshi University Correspondent, quoting RMCH director Brigadier Shameem Yazdany.

New Age correspondent in Chattogram, quoting the district civil surgeon Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, reported that a total of 16 Covid positive patients died at hospitals in Chattogram in past 24 hours.

In Khulna, six Covid patients died in the Covid Dedicated Hospital, one in Gazi Medical College Hospital and two Covid patient died in Khulna City Medical College Hospital, New Age correspondent in Khulna, quoting officials of the hospitals, reported.

New Age Islamic University correspondent, quoting Kushtia civil surgeon Anowarul Islam, reported that six Covid patients and one having symptoms died in the district during the time.

In Chuadanga, six Covid patients and two others having symptoms died at the Covid unit of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital during the time, the correspondent reported, quoting Chuadanga civil surgeon ASM Maruf.

In Meherpur, three Covid patients died during the time, the correspondent reported, quoting officials in the district Civil Surgeon office.

Our Correspondent in Barishal, referring to a release by Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, reported that a total of 15 patients — six Covid patients and nine others having Covid symptoms — died at the hospital’s Covid unit in the past 24 hours.

In Cumilla, seven Covid positive patients died during the timeline, reported New Age correspondent in the district, quoting officials at district Civil Surgeon’s office.

Besides, seven Covid patients died in Gazipur, six each in Cox’s Bazar and Brahamanbaria and three in Noakhali during the timeline, reported our correspondents in the district, quoting the district Civil Surgeons.
