Indian FS Shringla arrives in Dhaka

Indian foreign secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday morning on a two-day official visit, according to Bangladesh foreign ministry officials.

Bangladesh foreign secretary Masud Bin Momen received him at the airport in Dhaka.

He will meet Bangladesh foreign secretary Masud Bin Momen over lunch to be hosted by the Bangladesh side in the afternoon, according to Bangladesh officials.

Shringla will call on road transport and bridges minister and Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader today.

He will also call on prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday.

Indian foreign secretary’s visit to Bangladesh, a day after the friendship day celebrations, would provide an opportunity to review the wide-ranging cooperation between the two countries, MEA said.

The visit will also help the preparation for the state visit of Indian president Ram Nath Kovind to Bangladesh in December 15-17.
